NST (5/5/08): The Bentong-Gua Musang road will be upgraded to alleviate traffic congestion, especially during festive season, Works Minister Datuk Mohd Zin Mohamed said.

He said the road would be given high priority as it was the main route connecting the east and west coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

The ministry would also ensure that the East Coast Highway, currently under construction, would be completed on schedule, he said in repy to Salahuddin Ayub (PAS-Kubang Kerian) during question time at the Dewan Rakyat today.

To a question from Datuk Juslie Ajirol (BN-Libaran), Mohd Zin said the government would continue to implement the build-and-transfer procurement method, subject to approval by the Finance Ministry.
