Home Ministry probing claims of labour outsourcing licence abuse

NST (15/5/08): The Home Ministry is investigating claims that some companies appointed to handle outsourcing of foreign labour are abusing their licenses.

Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said the original aim of the lincenses was to ensure a syatematic management of the influx of workers.

"However, due to infringements and maybe abuse of the licenses, we are investigating the matter," he said in reply to a supplementary question from Khalid Abdul Samad (PAS-Shah Alam).
